What is Café Church?

It’s an informal worship service styled like a café with coffee or tea, juice and pastries or buns (all free!) available throughout. We meet in the church hall for about an hour, sing some lively songs and encourage folks to get involved in any way they feel comfortable – in the singing or the crafts, or whatever else the service may contain. If you just want to sit and listen and watch – that’s OK too. Activities will also be available for the very young ones. NB All our children’s helpers are CRB checked.

It’s a new venture for us at Hainault Baptist. Why not come along and join us! We’d love to see you.

Our very first Café Church service will be on Mothers’ Day – 18th March, when we’ll be saying a big thank you to some very special people in our lives – our Mums.

Hainault Baptist Church is celebrating its 77th Anniversary this next week.

We are celebrating with an Anniversary tea on Saturday 25th Feb, at 3pm in the church hall, all are welcome to come and celebrate with us. Then to follow on Sunday 26th Feb we have a guest speaker from More Then Gold a Christian organisation who are focusing on spreading the christian message through the Olympic Games in London this year and as always service starts at 10am and we would love to see you!

A Man of Many Keys!

Sunday 16^th October, 2011, David keyed up 50 Years as the church Organist.

It was in 1961 that members’ asked David to consider becoming organist, and there he stayed, with no thought of retirement yet mentioned.

Although not in the habit of wearing his gown each week, the minister, Revd. Jan Larkins, insisted that he be robed for this special celebration day.

Later that day, David was given a tie in the shape of a keyboard – but it doesn’t have enough keys to accompany the singing.

The Girls Brigade Annual Pantomime has been decided. It is Peter Pan at Hawkey Hall in Woodford. On Saturday 15th January 2012 at 4:30pm.
